Bring the Noise

War Lights is the music of Tony Poer and a rotating cast of musicians.  Hailing from Flagstaff, AZ, they make lo-fi/acoustic rock in the style of the Pixies, Pavement, Death Cab for Cutie, and Pedro the Lion.  The History Repeats EP is available now, and contains stripped-down acoustic versions of songs previously released by Emperors of Japan and Pistols at Dawn.

Sun Elk Album Review

The lovely folks at Flag Live put together a review of the album I recorded for Sun Elk. You can check it out in print or at the Flag Live website. You can pick up the album at shows or from any number of online outlets like iTunes or Spotify (links are on the Sun Elk website).

New Sun Elk Album

I just finished recording an album for Sun Elk - a roots/americana band from Flagstaff (spoiler alert: I also play bass in this band). Check out the previews at sunelkband.com. The album was recorded at The Space Station and mastered by Timothy Hogan at Kyberdog.

COLORADO TOUR!

Last Summer I embarked on a brief tour through Colorado and New Mexico, making sure to coordinate my shows in locations with superb beer and mountain biking opportunities.  In 2017 we're going bigger, and the dates are almost all set.  I'll be putting together a ridiculous tour poster soon, but be on the lookout in the following towns:

8/24 - Durango - Ska Brewing

8/25 - Mancos - Mancos Brewing

8/26 - Gunnison - High Alpine Brewing

8/27 - Buena Vista - Eddyline Brewing

8/31 - Denver - Crazy Mountain Denver Taproom

9/1 - Edwards - Crazy Mountain Edwards

9/2 - Breckenridge - MotherLoaded Tavern

9/3 - Breckenridge - Broken Compass Brewing

History Repeats - Touring

Hey all - the EP is complete and you can purchase a physical copy at shows.  We're getting it loaded onto iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, etc., as well, so you'll be able to get a digital copy soon.  In the meantime, we're also setting up several short tours to promote everything.  Check out the shows page for updates, but we'll be all over Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico.

Album Update

The songs are mixed and mastered and off to be indelibly etched onto CD's (a process that, I assume, is handled by an army of tiny robots).  Unlike previous album releases, I'll wait until I get the finished product back from the manufacturer BEFORE booking the CD release shows - but it's probably safe to assume we'll have them ready towards the end of August.  In the meantime I've posted all the songs on the Music page so you can preview them, and get a free download of "Under My Skin" if you're so inclined.

Snowbowl!

I'm totally stoked to be part of the Arizona Snowbowl Summer Music Series.  Every Friday this Summer they're basically hosting a party up at the lodge with music, food, beer (I like all 3 of these things, so it's a big win for me).  There are a ton of great acts, and I've somehow convinced them to let me play 3 times over the next few months.  It starts early, but you didn't want to work anyway, right?

History Repeats - mixing and mastering

We're putting the finishing touches on the History Repeats EP, which should be out later this Summer.  It's 6 tracks - some with a full band and some solo acoustic renderings.  All of the songs on the EP were previously released/recorded with other bands, but have been re-tooled as acoustic songs.  Some of the rough mixes are up on the music page, or you can find them on Soundcloud.  So far, the track list looks like this:
  • Under My Skin
  • Ghosts
  • Half a Man
  • Someone is Going to Die Tonight
  • You Are The Everything
  • So Long for Now

I'll post some updated info as we get closer to the release.
